Poolside Furniture

The grandeur of a pool isn’t all swimming and splashing. There is an entire world around the pool for you to explore as well. The area around the pool is the perfect canvas to create an oasis away from responsibility. You should still be responsible for the pool of course, but no worrying about Larry the accountant annoying you in the office while you’re laying in your hammock poolside. If Larry tries calling you, we hear the iPhone 7 is pretty water resistant, give it a toss. (We are not liable if you actually toss your phone into the pool). But before you can do any of that, you first need the hammock to lay on. That or you need the outdoor sofa to lay back on, or the lounge chair to tan in. You actually have quite a few selections you can make for your poolside pleasure.

Which furniture is right for you? It really depends on what you plan on using the pool for. If you are looking to entertain guests on a regular basis you are going to want to look at something like a sofa. It might seem like a sofa is not something you want near a pool, however, there are sofa’s designed just for that. They have easy to clean, weather resistant cushions that you can use. Let’s take a look at all the options available to you.

Hammock: The legendary artifact of rest and relaxation, one that has been used and loved throughout the ages. Not only are hammocks comfortable, they are simple too. They are pretty much just a blanket stretched across two points. This makes it easy to install one, as long as you have two posts to attach it to, or a stand to use it on. The great part is being so simple it takes just a minute to take one down or put it back up. No need to worry about leaving it to deal with the weather. The downside to a hammock is that you need the two post, which is not always accessible when the stone is laid down. Hammocks are also limited in capacity, usually only holding at most 2 people very close together. So they are not ideal if you want multiple guests over.

Sofa Furniture: Sofa furniture is just like having the living room couch out by the poolside, only it’s a great idea to do it! The living room couch would quickly get ruined, but an outdoor sofa is designed, as the name might suggest, to be outside. It has tough, weather resistant cushions or padding on them, the structure is built durable and to withstand elements, and they are typically easy to clean. They are also designed to seat multiple people so if you have a large family or friends that visit regularly, it’s a good choice to go with. You can also get multiple pieces to extend the area or give people more space. They also come in modular designs so they connect into one large piece like a sectional sofa or a bed and split apart into multiple seating pieces.

Bistro: All the charm of a French bistro with all the comfort of a swimming pool. Bistro sets are more or less, small dining tables. They are large enough 2 or 3 people to sit at, sip coffee, and enjoy a small meal without being so large they get in the way or are difficult to move. They also tend to be made of durable materials such as metal, which help them last longer outside. The paint might start to peel eventually, but they can be fixed up again. They can be made to last longer if you put some kind of protective spray over them.

Lounge Chairs: As long as there have been public pools, there have been lounge chairs. Lounge chairs are longer seats that let you lean back and prop your feet up. They tend to be bought in sets and have some sort of table beside them for drinks and electronics. They are great for relaxing and catching some sun for a tan or just for drying off. They are great to relax side by side when you are done taking a dip in the pool.

Of course, pools tend to have quite a bit of area around them. You don’t have to settle for just one seating option. You can have a hammock on one side and a patio set on the other side. You can put a bistro set in a corner near the home and put some patio furniture on the other side. Before you do anything though, you are going to need that fancy pool.
